Kent Island Discovery zone (formerly Island Secret Garden) is an indoor play place and enrichment center for children ages birth to 10 years. The goal of the center is to provide physical and social activities through structured and open play. Children can climb on one of our indoor jungle gyms or play in our Little Tikes playhouses, dress-up corner and kitchen area. The kids just love our many tricycles, push cars and massive train table and Lego tables. Mom and Dad will appreciate the comfortable seating area with a clear view of the entire room for supervision. Our kitchen area allows you to bring, heat and serve your own snacks.
KIDZ also offers structured enrichment programs, such as Reading, Rhythm, & Rhymy, Gym Tots, Art & Crafts, Intro to Katarte, Science and much more!! All programs are taught by qualified teachers in our separate classroom. The classroom doubles as a private birthday party room. About the new Manager: Kim Donnelly has been passionate about children’s education since she was just a child herself. In her own words, “When I was 12 years old I would help my mom with Sunday school and VBS. My parents were always amazed at how children would just gravitate toward me. I love to see the look in a child’s eyes when they really understand what you are teaching them.” Kim also tells a story about a teacher in her life who told her that she would never be anything special because she was not smart enough. Kim knows the impact of these statements on children. She says, “I want kids to have a place to go where they can create and learn and be themselves even at a very early age. I want them to feel safe enough to try something new and give them a place where they can feel free to be who they want to be without judgment from others. A place to be silly and dress up or go to a music class and dance around, attend an art class or just act like a monkey on the gym equipment.” That place is Kent Island Discovery Zone… ...where children grow into their dreams. We are also asking for your help. Please do not bring your child to KIDZ if they are having symptoms of being sick, such as a fever, runny nose, and stomach distress. Children should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to the center. THANK YOU!
Health & Safety
At KIDZ, we know that your child’s health is your number one priority. No one likes having sick children. We are committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment. Our toys are examined daily and anything that is broken is removed from the floor. The entire center is disinfected on a weekly basis with spot cleaning done everyday before closing. Carpets are vacuumed after each open play time.
